Management
The company was founded by the trained master machinist Herbert Göweil. In the first year he developed the company's first wrapper. A milestone for the first wrapper was implementation of a rotating wrapping arm, which did not yet exist in this design.
This was the foundation for today's success. Over the last few decades, GÖWEIL has established itself worldwide as a specialist in the manufacturing of agricultural machinery and today it has also made a name for itself in the manufacturing of pressing and wrapping technology for industry.
Herbert’s son, Michael Göweil, will behis successor . He joined the company in the spring of 2022 and has already gained a great deal of experience. As the company’s authorized signatory, Michael is already making many important decisions and is preparing to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Authorized Signatory | Michael Göweil
As the future successor to the family business, Herbert’s son Michael Göweil is already ready to take the reins. He joined the company in the spring of 2022 and has since gained valuable insights into all areas of the business. Through close collaboration with his father and the entire team, he has gradually familiarized himself with the company’s processes, values, and requirements.
As an authorized signatory, Michael has already taken on a wide range of responsibilities and plays a key role in important business decisions. With great dedication, he brings new ideas and fresh perspectives to the table, without losing sight of the long-standing tradition and time-tested principles of the family business. Through his ongoing professional development and practical experience, he is working hard to prepare himself to one day take over the leadership of the company and continue his father’s successful work. This ensures that the company will remain in family hands in the future and that the values it has stood for over many years will continue to be upheld.

History

1988: Founding
Herbert Göweil founded the company Göweil as a fitter's shop and agricultural machinery business. Starting with three employees on the family farm vehicle bodies were produced and various contract work was carried out.

1989: First Wrapping Machine
The first wrapper with a rotating wrapping arm was developed. However, following the initial field tests, it became clear that improvements were needed, so the machine was disassembled into its individual parts and thoroughly overhauled. The resulting second machine—the Siloboss—has proven itself and is still in use today.

1991: Headquarters in Kirchschlag and Expansion
Since the parent’s garage will soon be too small, a new main building with workshops and an office wing is being constructed at the company’s current headquarters in Kirchschlag. In 1995, the company built its own paint shop.

1997: Agritechnica Silver Medal
The first baler-wrapper combination was developed with a round baler from John Deere, and it won the silver medal at Agritechnica. This marks a major success for the up-and-coming company.

2005: First LT-Master
The first maize combination was developed together with the Swiss company "Landtechnik Zollikofen". In this regard the Swiss company contributed the baler and GÖWEIL contributed the wrapper combination. GÖWEIL then fundamentally revised the design—resulting in the first LT-Master from GÖWEIL.

2011: New Company Logo

2014: Company Expansion and the First Round Baler

In 2014, GÖWEIL unveiled its own round baler, the G-1 F125, for the first time; it will be available from 2015. As part of this presentation open days were hosted and approx. 7,000 visitors participated.

2015: Establishment of the Subsidiary GÖWEIL BNL
In 2015, GÖWEIL founded its subsidiary, GÖWEIL BNL PGmbH, in Belgium. The company is responsible for sales in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

2021: Establishment of the Subsidiary GÖWEIL Schweiz AG
The wholly owned subsidiary GÖWEIL Schweiz AG is established and, as the new general importer, assumes responsibility for sales and service in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

2022: Open House – New Plant in Rainbach
The start in Rainbach was successful: After just under a year and a half of construction, we were able to start up production. Open house at the new plant in Rainbach im Mühlkreis attended by around 9,000 visitors.

2023: New Company Building in Belgium
GÖWEIL BNL PGmbH moves into the newly constructed building in St. Vith / Belgium after a construction period of one year.

2025: Anniversary Machines
In 2025, GÖWEIL will celebrate two anniversaries: 10 years of the G-1 round baler and 20 years of the Master series. To mark the occasion, special models will be unveiled—the G-1 and G-1 station wagon as the Silver Edition, as well as a VARIO-Master as the Gold Edition.
